Durango
Weather
Durango
enjoys an ideal four-season climate with moderate temperatures
year-round.
Summer:
During summer, temperatures seldom reach more
than the high 80s, and then its just for a week or two.
Come as you are is the preferred fashion in Durango. Sweaters,
fleece, or light jackets are recommended for summer evenings.
Fall:
Fall days are cool and dry, perfect for a mountain
hike or drive to see the golden aspen and red-orange scrub
oak.
Winter:
Winters are mostly mild and sunny. Decembers
average high temperature is 43 degrees F. (Cold-snaps are
short-lived and rare). Winter snowfall in town is an average
of 71 a year, but because of our relatively low elevation
and 300 days of sunshine per year, it doesnt stick to
the streets very long. However, at higher elevations, like
Durango Mountain Resort, snowfall averages 260 per year.
Spring:
Springtime brings warmer weather with just enough rain to
brighten up greening lawns and high country meadows.
